Adm. Mike Mullen, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, launched his Facebook page on July 2 and has already managed to attract 309 fans.
That's about 300 more fans than I have, probably because I don't have a staff to help me manage all kinds of social network stuff. I have a hard time keeping up with e-mail.
Mullen's Facebook page shows this is one wired guy, with links to Podcasts, videos and Twitter feeds, although the last Tweet - on July 5 -- is a bit dated: "Off to Moscow for the Summit. Looking forward to signing the workplan for better cooperation with the Russian military."
Who would have thunk a year ago that the JCS chairman would have Facebook fans?

Now that leadership is applying and using Social Media tools, how and when is the rest of the DoD going to jump on board?
